It is important to keep history alive, even the most brutal aspects of it. My Aboriginal side of my family has died off along with my History. I have fragments I remember from youth and some things my father from the other side remembers my mother telling him but I am largely left with not knowing where my family is from and feel like I have lost a part of myself as well. Some Black Americans probably also face similar holes in their family trees as well as other minorities that have lost branches of their History. I feel we should all rise up and support each other, not tear each other down.
