IMVU Creator agreement
As an IMVU Creator, you are required to act in accordance with United States copyright and trademark law. This means that when you submit a product to the IMVU catalog, you have a "good faith belief" that you are legally authorized to make use of the content contained within the product. This includes but is not limited to textures, models, animations, text, sounds, etc. Violation of copyright exposes you to criminal and civil prosecution, with potential liability extending beyond real damages to include relevant court costs.
IMVU advises you to make a good faith effort to:
# verify the content you submit uses non-copyrighted materials,
and/or
# contact the copyright owner/agent and get their permission
IMVU, Creators, and the Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA)
If you believe that your work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, or your intellectual property rights have been otherwise violated, you agree to abide by the Terms of Service and may file a DMCA takedown notice. Product Ownership
You are not required to assign copyright for your products to IMVU. However, when you submit a product to the IMVU catalog, you grant IMVU a worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to use that product in any way IMVU sees fit.
Consequently, you agree that if your account is disabled for a Terms of Service violation, this worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive license that you have granted IMVU persists in perpetuity. Derivability
When you mark a product as derivable in the catalog, you give permission to every other IMVU Creator to derive a new product from your product. This permission also allows those other IMVU Developers to set their derived products to be derivable. You agree that since the original Developer in a product derivation chain always receives payment of their wholesale price, simply deriving from those derivations does not, in itself, constitute copyright infringement.
IMVU Terms of Service
Before you become a Creator, you must read through and agree to the IMVU Terms of Service. Although it is important you read the entire Terms of Service, please pay special attention to the sections that address Developers specifically. Remember: you can get to the Terms of Service by clicking the link found at the bottom of every IMVU webpage.
IMVU Virtual Goods Policy
Before you become a Creator, you must read through and agree to the IMVU Virtual Goods Policy. It is very important you read the entire Virtual Goods Policy. Remember: you can get to the Virtual Goods Policy at any time by clicking the link found within the Terms of Service.
Creator. Not Reseller.
Sale of credits to an accredited Credits Reseller is fine; however, this Creator account cannot engage in the resale of credits to other IMVU users. If you want to use this account to become a Creator only and not a Reseller, then agree to the terms and click the button below.
